Yellowknife Education District No. 1 invites applications for the

following position:

Program Support Teacher

Range Lake North School

JK to Grade 8
Full-time (100%) Term
Term to June 30, 2024

Minimum requirements for this position include a Bachelor of Education Degree, NWT Teaching Certificate, and a minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience.

Successful candidates will further need:

• Knowledge of the Inclusive Schooling Directive

• Understanding of the various educational programs in the NWT

• Experience modifying and individualizing programming based on student goals, strengths, and needs

• Knowledge of current flexible instructional strategies and practices that support inclusive classrooms

• Experience using a wide variety of NWT curriculum

• Knowledge of utilizing class profiles to inform practices

• Understanding of the response to intervention model

• Understanding of universal design for learning and tiered support

• Experience working with students with complex needs

• Knowledge and understanding of district based assessments

• Knowledge and willingness to implement research based practices that support formative assessments

• Willingness to support teachers, support assistants and school teams

• Able to effectively collaborate with providers of support services (outside agencies)

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Experience with collaborative school and/or district based teams

• Comfortable with using technology to support and engage students and educators

• Experience in educational leadership

• Experience in team teaching and co-planning

• Knowledge of Indigenous Language and Education
