 Indigenous Language Instructor

Mildred Hall School

Full time (100%FTE) Term

Term to June 30, 2025

 

Requirements include:

- Ability To speak Wiiliideh or Tlicho or have a Bachelor of Education degree (non speakers must have a B.Ed, commit to learning the language, and be willing  to plan and support language instruction with a language speaker).

-Ability to collaborate with all teachers in the school, and work as part of a team

-Embraces technology as a tool to enhance learning

-Strong classroom management skills

-Experience and knowledge of differentiated instruction

-Understanding and experience integrating the Dene Kede Curriculum

-Use and knowledge of the neurolinguistic approach to teaching language is considered an asset

-Understanding of and experience integrating the “Our Languages Curriculum” would be considered an asset

-Understanding of PowerSchool and the ability to write report cards is an asset

-Experience teaching students with diverse needs would be considered an asset
