Yellowknife Education District No. 1 and Ndilo District Education Authority invites applications for the following term position:
Music Teacher
K’àlemi Dene School
Full-time Term (100% FTE)
Term until June 30, 2026
Minimum requirements include a Bachelor of Education Degree and eligibility for NWT Teacher Certification and training in and/or experience teaching music and/or band. Preference will be given to candidates who also have:
- strong classroom management skills
- excellent communication skills
- experience teaching in multi grade level classroom
- experience teaching in an elementary and/or middle school
- ability to support social and emotional needs of students
- understanding of self-regulation and co-regulation and what that looks like in a classroom setting
- strong collaborator
- willingness to embrace technology as a tool to enhance learning
- Cross-cultural experience in an Indigenous community; knowledge of Wiiliideh Yatti preferred.
- Familiarity with Dene language, culture, and values
- Experience working in a MAG (multi-aged grouping) classroom
